Saints have a defense to match their offense
The New Orleans Saints' offense is right about where you’d expect it to be, No. 5 in yards per game (394.9), second in passing offense (303.2) and 13th in scoring (24.8).
But this season the Saints have a defense to match, and that can be counted among the more pleasant surprises this season. The Saints have the No. 2 pass defense in the league (192.7 yards per game), the No. 4 total defense (306.7 yards) and the No. 5 scoring defense (19.1). And that balance is a major reason that New Orleans (10-5) enters the regular-season finale against Tampa Bay (4-11) in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome a victory shy of guaranteeing a spot in the playoffs as a wild-card, and possibly vaulting to the NFC South Division title and No. 2 playoff seed. Last season, when the Saints were allowing 440.1 yards, 292.6 passing yards and 28.4 points per game, the team held just three opponents to fewer than 20 points. This year, the number stands at 10. Re: Saints have a defense to match their offense
We have a winning record, our D has looked good and has played well most of the time. From time to time it has looked as if our O is going to catch fire and return to form but at times our O has looked like deer in the headlights, I don't quite to think about this type of rollercoaster ride this seasons team has done and for the life in me I don't know what team is going to show up, they are a confusing bunch this year, although I will root for them each and every game they play, but it does not mean when we blow a lead or lose a game I feel we were suppose to or a player does something I don't care for get a pass or doesn't pi$$ me off. I like to win!! So win!!

Not quite, to be specific... All we need is pieces on our offensive line to match pieces that are on our defensive line.....With a LT pick up From free agency, and a RT who could compete with strief from the draft I think we will have the makings of a team ready for another run.

Re: Saints have a defense to match their offense
I don't feel like there's all that much wrong with the offense. Even the line is solid if you look at the season as a whole instead of just the last two weeks when they faced upper-tier elite defensive lines. They are just in a slump. Picked a darn bad time to be in one, though. But I could see this going like 09 when they lost those last 3 games, looked as dead as a stray cat on the interstate, then got it going for the playoffs. We'll see. It's hard to believe we could have a top 5 defense and a top 5 offense and not make the playoffs.
