The million dollar question is: If Brooks had done that exact hit to Brady, Rodgers or P Manning would his fine be over-turned?

I dont have a massive issue with it personally. Players are being protected to the point some are happier putting pressure on QBs rather than hitting them these days.
Its a man's game and should be left that way.Nobody forces you to make hundreds of thousands or Millions of dollars to play.
It doesn't have to go back to the 60/70s of flattened players but good tough play when a OLB/DE is half a second late hitting a QB or a WR shouldn't be getting hit with big fines.
So sign a waiver, suit up and play some football.

When you do that you're open to being penalized.
2 months later the NFL allows reckless action to go unpunished. SMH
Meanwhile Dashon Goldson continues to head hunt with little to no punishment
Two Issues...
First, I don't wish injury on Brees, but when the game is played all-out, these players learn to protect themselves and each other as teammates; and they are expecting a big impact on any given Sunday; I'd argue that that situation prevents carelessness and will reduce injuries...
Second, there is an inequity that is becoming increasing glaring as the body of work from the Goodell-led era continues to increase and demonstrate certain favoritism which I've felt particular franchises have enjoyed for years...
