Armstead Grades????

I think he accomplished his goal....I forgot he was out there.
Good Game to build on.

Re: Armstead Grades????

He was terrific. Great game to build on. I think this guy will get the nod as our starting left tackle next season. We won't be trying to draft one this coming may.

We should draft stud linemen and LB's

Re: Armstead Grades????

Yeah he has all the tools to hold that spot for a while!

Re: Armstead Grades????

Well that still leaves RT, Strief will be a FA and I'm not sure we have the cap to satisfy his contract.

Good Locker room guy..They'll work something out.

Time to let one of the younger guys take over like Bryce Harris or Marcel Jones. Strief has been awesome, but if the price isn't right then we have guys who can step in right away.

Re: Armstead Grades????

Next year Bryce Harris will probably be the starting RT next season. I'm more concerned about the Center position. We are a strong Center away from O-Line dominance.

I do agree, it woudn't hurt, I would add a FS and WR to that list.

The things we are missing from 2009 is a run game, a ball hawk, and an O-line. Things that all can be fixed in the offseason #SuperBowlBound

Ive seen him get abused several times when he was in. I think we need to draft that position. Wouldn't mind Orr or however you spell it for rt or left tackle if we can afford him.

DLP either needs to start doing steroids or be replaced.

Right on...pretty happy with Armstead's performance today. Strong center to uproot DLP would be nice.

I am a bit concerned with DLP and his performance of late. but under no circumstance would i encourage steroids. or bad sarcasm. Please try not to act like an Atlanta fan.

It's time to build our boys up. Playoffs are coming.

Re: Armstead Grades????

DLP - I do not care what it takes sign Alex Mack

if not get this kid some help working on his reflexes and get in a wieght room more often. maybe he is maxed out?

Bryce starting at RT? sign Zack please and draft another

Armstead did well today. still needs work but he held his own and did not get a lot of extra help. good job

Schmohams 12-30-2013 12:28 AM

Re: Armstead Grades????

What the draft should look like:
1st: DB
2nd: OL
3rd: OL
4th: OL
5th: OL
6th: OL
And get Kromer back from that crappy Bears team.

Re: Armstead Grades????

I think our offense problems has been the inability of the LT to protect Brees long enough, when the LT comes through, you get the result seen today.

I am hoping that is something being built on for the post season where the Saints can go on a tear, wishful thinking to win 3 straight playoff games on the road......but much more silly things have happened.

Actually the biggest problem is Brees inability to step up in the pocket when the rush is coming around from LT. In the past Brees would just step up to avoid the rush but with DLP being pushed back he can't which makes it look like the main problem is LT when it is interior line fault.

Mardigras9 12-30-2013 08:48 AM

Re: Armstead Grades????

And wasn't Armstead up against a pro-bowl DT on that side?

Re: Armstead Grades????

We're going to let go of Will Smith for sure, that should free up a lot of cap space next year. Well, a decent amount anyway. In Loomis we trust!

Exactly. That is why I say De La Puenta needs to be replaced. You always build your O-Line from the middle out. We have two pro bowl Guards in Grubbs and Evans. We don't have to have a pro bowl Center but we need one who is more effective in the run game and can hold his own in pass blocking. You can always find a good Center in the draft, the position is never really over valued.

Armstead will be able to handle LT get a new Center and we will have a good OLine, you saw that long ball where brees stepped up and bombed it to meachem, yea thats what would happen more often if our center isn't getting beat up

Grubbs is paid WAY too much money to be thrown to his arse like he was this year...

Lelito looks like a great development...

One, maybe two draft picks to the offensive line this year...

Re: Armstead Grades????

Some guys who may be off the books next year: W. Smith, Vilma, Harper, DLP, Jenkins, Bunkley, PT, Greer, Robinson, Sproles, Strief and Herring. ALOT of cap space freed up. The good news is only Jenkins, Strief, DLP and one of the RB's have to be replaced. The guys in house are not bad and Loomis has a way of finding talent on the cheap. Draft the best OLB/OT/OC/CB/S, whomever you can pencil in as a starter on day 1, in round 1 and go from there.

Explain PT and Robinson... Not making any sense to me.

Which Robinson are you referring to? Patrick? Khiry? Sproles and PT are not going anywhere. This franchise have loyalty to player that produce and want to stay. The only team that might have a shot to take PT is Chicago, and I can see Greer taking a paycut or reform his contract

This is the problem. You can let the O-Line become a revolving door. i know you can't pay everbody. I really hope we can sign Zach. Oh Armstead grade. B+

I just saw something mind blowing, Willie Roaf was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. And Armstead went to Arkansas Pine Bluff College. It's a sign guys!
