The Return of Popeye's.

Looks like the Saints are going to have Popeye's chicken on the plane before their showdown with the Eagles. I tend to support superstitions like this, if for no other reason than it gives the team a psychological boost.

The Saints had Popeye's chicken while on the road in 2009. They went 7-1 during the regular season that year.

Makes the players happy? Gives them a grease boost? Makes them slippery and hard to tackle? Who knows but its a fun little superstition.

That, a Running Game that could gash and smash when called upon and a Ball-Hawking Free Safety...

All I know is there is only one Popeyes in this god forsaken state and its 160 miles from me. But on the upside, I will probably be eating there Sunday.

All we have is KFC. Ick....

Saw a Popeyes yesterday in Miami! Never had it, but I hear its great. (after having KFC growing up, the thought of fried chicken doesn't excite me!)

Will Smith tried that approach and learned that you can over do it.

I bet Raising Cane's (who are an official partner of the Saints) are really excited to hear this....

The players are right however. Popeye's are so much better.

Remember that reporter from Katrina about the local churches in the neighborhood being destroyed. The reply was, we never went to Churches only Popeyes hahha!

We have quite a few Popeye's in California, but it's just not as good as the Popeye's I had in Louisiana.

+1 So true. This crap up here in Dallas is not even on the same playing field.

We got a Popeye's this year about twenty miles south of where I live.

I may have to make a trip down there on Saturday before the game.

Well I live in the New Orleans area and I'd be the first to agree. When we travel, Popeye's chicken sucks in other cities. It ain't the same.

I think they make it spicier in La. Because they know the folks down there expect it to be hot. Although you would think that over here in Tx. it would be really spicy too, what with all the mexican influence.

Utah_Saint 01-02-2014 12:33 PM

Re: The Return of Popeye's.

Here in Utah black pepper is considered "spicy". Red pepper is exotic and scary.

Re: The Return of Popeye's.

I dunno, I have always thought a teams performance one day comes down to what they had that morning or the night before for Dinner and Breakfast.

Reason I say that is their is some foods that make you perform better and some that make you not want to do anything, think of it as mood swings. Maybe the Saints losses tell you the quality and type of foods at those places.
