I\'ve checked all the usual places, newspapers and tv,the Superdome\'s website and the Official Saints site and can\'t find anything new. The Morning Advocate had an article that I posted on here from a few weeks ago. But sorry nothing new.

Thanks for trying. I guess no news may be bad news in this case.

I don\'t think so, if Benson is sayin they actually have a plan, sounds good to me. At least he\'s up to renovating now, instead of demanding a stadium still.

Superdome Renovation

The Governor said recently that a renovation is what is going to happen. There was a plan to bundle a new stadium with the addition to the convention center and make a huge complex at the river, but the cost was so high and I think the state approached the Saints for a lot of the money based on the fact that many NFL teams help fund their stadiums and I think the Saints thought it was too steep.

Don\'t get me wrong, the organization wants to contribute, but our state is not able to flip as much as many other states would because we don\'t have the financial backing to do it. So there would have to be some sort of tax increase statewide that would be very noticable and unpopular. Because of that, the Saints would have to put up much more than say the Jets or 49ers would to build a new stadium.

Renovation is something the state and the team can afford and from what I understand they can do almost anything with the current Dome as in make it into almost anything. According to the Governor, a major renovation, a re-engineering of the dome, will happen within the next 4 to 6 years or sooner.

Remember this is from a source that I have and also from what I\'ve read in the papers. Hope it helps.

Thanks Halo(by the way can\'t wait til your game comes out next week), but that was the stuff I already new. I remember on a feature about the Superdome they said when ti was built, renovations were kept in mind. But Tom Benosn said the Saints had a plan for this renovation also and he called a press conference for last Wednesday but I have heard nothing of what the plan was or even if the press conference was still help. Thanks for your help though.

Well i\'m from Ohio never been to the dome or the city. It has a dream of mine for the longest to go never been there. I love the city of new orleans it\'s culture and history. Anyhow basically what i\'m trying to say it is good Benson is willing to negotiate with renovation. Before it was new stadium or else good to see he sees things diffrently for now.
Good to see he is trying to keep himself obligated to keeping the team in New Orleans.
