Philadelphia Police Dressing Up As Saints Fans To Avoid Violence, Will Have Little Success
In an effort to avoid violence between fans at Saturday’s Philadelphia Eagles-New Orleans Saints, the Philadelphia police have come up with a creative idea, and they have no problem spreading the word.
This may be in the back of the head of anyone trying to start a fight at the game, but there are a few flaws with this idea. First, if you catch the wrong fan trying to fight a cop or someone else, you aren’t going to get him to stop fighting because you say you are an undercover cop. I guess technically you could try to shoot the person causing a fight (I think that is allowed considering those circumstances), but you could have done that without dressing up as a Saints fan. Secondly, most of the fights end up happening outside the stadium The Lions fan beaten unconscious by fraud Eagles fans earlier this season, was beaten outside of the stadium. So unless the cops are going to follow all fans out of the stadium and to their cars, and on subway rides, violence is still going to take place. The Lions game also shows that even if the Eagles win, drunken idiots are still going to be drunken idiots. I hope that no one embarrasses the city of Philadelphia (or New Orleans) after the game, but win or loss, it’s a very real possibility–regardless of how the cops are dressed. I understand that the Iggles stadium is the only one in the league with a court, a judge, and a jail all housed within the stadium. Will they fill up the joint?

Wonder if they can pull it off because they would have to act like Saints fans as well.

Re: Philadelphia Police Dressing Up As Saints Fans To Avoid Violence, Will Have Little Success
That's the thing. If I was a Saints fan going to this game, or ANY hostile road game, you know what I would probably do?
I would wear a gold chain around my neck, going down underneath my jersey, inside my shirt, which is something I would NEVER wear normally (I don't really do jewelry). Maybe I'd even put some Mardi Gras type Endymion or Orpheus medallion underneath there, tucked underneath the jersey, so it causes REALLY OBVIOUS bumps on my chest under the shirt. Figure out why? See what I did there? Because nobody is gonna pick a fight with a fan who LOOKS RIDICULOUSLY LIKE A COP. As an aside: the other problem here is that most undercover cops I've known are actually usually in kind of decent shape, some extremely so. You can't really pose as a drug buyer or prostitution John or join a gang if you look too much like the donuts/pot belly/ brown shoes "cop" stereotype. In fact the one undercover cop I knew the best, the man had a heart of gold, but looked absolutely frightening and crazy, and played it convincingly, so much so that it made you wonder sometimes about his under-cover-ness or if he was REALLY one of bad guys (he wasn't). And this guy, he was an undercover cop, a real one, and he was tough as nails and in AMAZING physical shape -- you would have to be absolutely crazy to mess with him if he were a rival fan. |

A couple years ago a cop took his daughter to an Eagles game. An Eagles fan forced himself to throw up on the cop and daughter, who were rooting for the other team. The Eagles fan was actually caught but I have my doubts that the stinkin green Eagles fans will think twice before acting. I have been to road games but I would never go to the Linc.

If you don't hear "sha" when a baby goes by, or key-aw after something amazing happens..... they are imposters. If they are not "fixing to" do something or if they call a soft drink anything other than a coke....they are imposters.
If they don't "get down" at the store or house.. They are fake cops and therefor IMPOSTERS! |
