What if Lewis can't play?
What do we do then? The thought of going into Seattle with White and Sweeting as our CBs make me queasy.Nothing against either of those guys, they're our guys and I'm sure they'll give their best effort.
White is actually a pretty good corner but he isn't ready to be our #1. Sweeting is a major liability. I'm sure RR will give him some help but means pulling some one off of regular duty. Do we have somebody waiting in the wings? |
Re: What if Lewis can't play?
Lewis already tweeted that he's playing next week... I'm not worried until I hear something different

No Way Goodell was going to let Lewis back into the game
(he doesn't wear a niners uniform) good shot he will get the nod to be back otherwise it's obvious not to just us but the whole country that was such a turnaround in our secondary with him out (credit Fowles) even Collingsworth caught it |

If he can't play we should just blitz 11 on every snap.

Re: What if Lewis can't play?
I know everyone here saw the play, to me it begs the question do the doctors have replays of the play that happened so they can determine concussion vs just getting the wind knocked out of you, which is what happened to Keenan...

Re: What if Lewis can't play?
If he can't play then we will need the offense to control the ball for about 42 minutes
Realistically, I think Jenkins or Carr are better options at corner than Sweeting. He is a good athlete with a solid future, but I don't feel too good about him as a starter this week. Against that team. In that stadium. PS- Sean will keep the 'questionable' tag on Keenan all week as part of the chess match with Carroll. |

Re: What if Lewis can't play?
Holding DeSean Jackson to 0 yards for 3 quarters is impressive. Not very many in the entire league can do this. In my mind, this guy is damn near a 'shut down' type corner.
I hope he will be 100 % against Seattle. |

Can we not panic regardless of his status?

Re: What if Lewis can't play?
Move Jenkins down to corner and have Harper/Bush/Quddus on the back end. And play a lot of press coverage with the corners right on top of the line and jamming receivers every single down. Jenkins/White both have size and strength so use that as best you can.
There's also Trevin Wade, and I think Sweeting is OK if he's on #3 and #4 receivers. |
Re: What if Lewis can't play?
Is E. Mack availible? What about picking up Assemwhah?

But with that said, with Lewis we have a 40/60 shot at the upset. Without him we're gonna need quite a few lucky bounces. |
Re: What if Lewis can't play?
We are a strong team with good depth(surprisingly). But Lewis being out really hurt us.
|
Re: What if Lewis can't play?
then we're screwed...

Re: What if Lewis can't play?
When Lewis went out we got bullied, in the draft we need to go CB, then LB, Then S. Oh it will be so raw, I can't wait.
