The Seattle Seahawks had the best defense in the NFL this year by almost every statistical measure. They ranked first in the league in yards allowed, points allowed, passing yards allowed and forced turnovers.

The New Orleans Saints, meanwhile, had the most balance in the league. They ranked fourth in the NFL in both offensive yards and defensive yards. No other team ranked in the top 9 in both categories.

Here’s a look at where the Saints (11-5 in the regular season) and Seahawks (13-3) ranked in those and other key statistical categories through the end of the regular season:

Passing yards: 2nd (307.4 per game)
Rushing yards: 25th (92.1 per game)

They are severly lopsided. It has worked well for them but I'd rather have a team in the top five on both sides.
