The New Orleans Saints signed safety Jordan Pugh on Tuesday to add depth in the secondary and on special teams. Pugh tweeted the news, which was confirmed by his agent Steve Weinberg. The team has not announced any corresponding roster moves, however.

Pugh, 25, has played in 45 games over the past four seasons, including the playoffs, with the Washington Redskins and Carolina Panthers. He actually played against the Seattle Seahawks in a playoff loss with Washington last year.

Pugh entered the NFL with the Panthers in 2010 as a sixth-round draft pick. The 5-foot-11, 210-pounder has 51 career tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble, a sack and five pass defenses. He had an interception earlier this year against Peyton Manning before being released by the Redskins in October.
