Scared?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I was just watching NFL Countdown on ESPN, why you ask, I don't know glutton for punishment I guess. Anyway, Keyshawn asked Berman if the Saints were scared because of all the things SP is and has been doing this ...

Scared?

I was just watching NFL Countdown on ESPN, why you ask, I don't know glutton for punishment I guess. Anyway, Keyshawn asked Berman if the Saints were scared because of all the things SP is and has been doing this week. Well I can see his point but I refuse to fall into that trap. Sean has never struck me as being scared, rattled, or nervous. I'm wondering is the practicing with loud noise, trying to set the fire sprinklers off at the practice facility, throwing wet footballs, painting the logo on the practice field, changing hotels in Seattle, etc. isn't a mind game to try and make the seahawks feel over confident thinking that we are scared. I wouldn't put it past him.

What goes around comes around!

Re: Scared?

Seems more like trying to focus the players.

Y'all bring up good points. I think that is all part of it too. It's just that there seems to be so much he is doing. When I heard he tried to get permission to set off the fire alarm in the building to set off the sprinklers I'm like man he's pulling out all the stops. But y'all are right our players need to be in the right frame of mind for this one.

Re: Scared?

Did he simulate PEDs as well? I hate that we will have some suspended players next year.

Also Sean Payton simulated Seahawk internet troll fans.
He grabbed a handful of people, gave them anonymous names, tried to disguise some of them as Saints fans, and let all of them hide behind computer monitors to make them feel "tough." They start "intelligent football discussions" where all they do is argue that Seahawks will win no matter what, will win Superbowl this year and next, and if you disagree they ridicule saying childish comments and try to convince you that you are "delusional."

After losing the discussion, these simulated trolls grab more trolls to stand next to you and say the same thing over and over again. Then, like little tarts, they post their discussion on their own message board to try and make fun, but not many join in realizing these trolls are little chihuahuas.

Final requirement to make the simulation complete - all these trolls are either children or unemployed with tons of time on their hands.

Re: Scared?

I thinks its just good coaching! Makes sense to try and replicate, as much as is possible, what the game conditions, etc are going to be like!

Yea I agree but was just wondering if maybe he didn't say to himself, "you know this preperation could get into the heads of the hawks players, make them over confident." He wants to win this game bad. First we could'nt win on the road. Now we can't win in Seattle. I'm sure he's just as sick of hearing this as we are.
