Despite the fumble, ingram has been running well and making quick decisions at the line, he is staying another year Sproles might be the odd man out, he doesnt make people miss anymore and doesnt look elusive as he used to be |

Re: Ingram,Robinson or Thomas
Definitely need to increase khiry use, glad those decisions aren't mine. That's a tough one.

Re: Ingram,Robinson or Thomas
Robinson and Ingram both deserve to tote the rock next year, I'm higher on Robinson but Ingram has come on and wouldn't mind seeing more of him as long as he keeps running with authority, both are young and less mileage than PT or Sproles. PT still has a good bit left in the tank, Sproles started the season on fire but lost a lot as the season went on. I'd keep the young mules and PT and trade Sproles because if he wore down this season it's only going to get worse the next and use PT to spell out Robinson and Ingram.

Re: Ingram,Robinson or Thomas
Make sure Ingram and Robinson each get to touch the ball 15+ times a game. I love what Thomas and Sproles has done for the Saints. But, good organizations dump players before they hit the wall, not after. Their salaries can be used elsewhere. Plus, Loomis has proven he can find starter quality RB's without drafting them.

Re: Ingram,Robinson or Thomas
Just remember that Sproles is a rare type of player, and not easily replaced. However, I am the first to admit he appears to have lost something, especially as the season progressed.
I would really love to see what Ingram and Robinson can do with a lead fullback. I remember a great running back from the past who was not that great in a one back set, but was lights out with a fullback leading the way. Too bad those knees didn't hold up for that young man... (Deuce) |

Re: Ingram,Robinson or Thomas
I wouldn't mind keeping Sproles and PT for another season, but their cap hits are quite large.
I think we can do better with that type of money. PT is 3 million, no dead money Sproles is 4.25 million with only 750K in dead money (we'd save 3.5 million) So if we release both we'd save 6.5 million. Is it worth the savings to release them? |

Re: Ingram,Robinson or Thomas
I brought that up a couple of weeks back and was laughed at by some.
Its not a case of them not being good but are they worth the cap space taken up.I think the play calling needs to move away fromthe screen game so when its used it works rather than be forced. The offense has become predictable and though its still too good for most teams to stop when you play teams that have size and speed in the backfield and LB they are happy to rush the lineman and not over comit and are ready for the screen.Get Robinson and Ingram hitting the line hard and set up the screen/play action passes. Maybe keep one or draft a new RB |
"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

Re: Ingram,Robinson or Thomas
If you want my opinion, PT is the reason the rushing game has lacked, hes not explosive and looks to have regressed from previous years.
Hand it off to Robinson or Ingram and they hit the hole for 5 yards, basically their 5 yards is quicker and better visioned than PTs 5 yards which is slow. Is it any coincidence when PT is out that the Run game improved so much? |
