I'd be happy if we could negotiate a first and a third round pick in this draft (if they're in the front halves of the rounds)... Any way you cut it, the Saints can't sign, or keep, any other players when nearly 60 million of the salary cap will be committed to five (5) players, including a signing of Graham... And try trading him and that albatross of a possible contract when he continues to break down or continues to "not" produce in "big" games... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

You also risk souring the locker room because of how you lowballed him. He is well liked. 2. Have you ever heard of a team picking up a player on the non-exclusive? I can't find any evidence of it. Play GM for a minute, you are going to have to give him what he wants for him to ink, so that costs you 11m/year AND 2 first round draft picks. You going to give that up for Jimmy Graham? 3. What if he refuses to sign the NE tag? You just soured JG, the locker room, and didn't get a damn thing from it. Or you let him walk as an RFA with a First round tender and see what you get. Plus a compensatory pick the following season. |

Re: Free agents 2014
But your point is well made Schmohams, Martin was a Restricted Free Agent and a was a prized Free Agent...
Teams WILL spend picks for a player that is a triple impact threat - Wins, Gate, Television... Graham going to a team like Miami would be huge for them- College Hometown Hero Returns to Resurrect Storied Franchise... And we've got a good trade history with them as well; more recently, Ricky Williams, Reggie Bush... |
