Re: It's become very apparent
Our record against superior teams reflects and solidifies my logic ... Where is your proof ? I am usually the optimistic type but we're going to waste having a franchise hall of famers sweet prime years by lying and keep on telling ourselves were Elite ...
Jimmy is elite until Sherman or Talib or Revis gets a hold of him ... Then what ? We're soft and easily intimidated on the road ( which ironically is when it counts ) You cannot dismiss my arguments as typical crap when this much evidence supports what I am saying ... Cameron Jordan is the closest thing we have to a true elite player on either side of the ball ... Argue with that bubba |

Re: It's become very apparent
Regardless if the tone is half-doom or half-lollipops & rainbows, I believe no one can argue that in no way can we sit on our laurels...
We have some pretty special players and we just need to add some quality supporting cast... Problem is we've got alot of money tied up in players that are limited or in a quarterback, though he's been elite, is definitely on physical decline years and has stated he'd rework contract, though not necessarily taking a pay cut... |
Re: It's become very apparent
For instance ... Do you think we could've won in Green Bay or Carolina as the niners did ? Haha we've never done either with this current " elite " team we supposedly have ... That Green Bay loss sent us to San Fran
That carolina loss sent us to Seattle ... Where we ... You guessed it , got bullied around again in an embarrassing fashion |

Strief did have troubles with SF but they were mostly in the running game, he did OK protecting Drew. Brown stunk up the place. One of his worst of quite a few bad games. But he's gone now. And to be fair, that's San Fran's game. They have an excellent front 7. Possibly the best in the league. Almost no one does well against them. Beating every team's strength during the entire season is a pretty high standard to hold the Saints to. |
Re: It's become very apparent
Can we merge this with the basketball player-turned-HOF-wide-out thread?

Re: It's become very apparent
How many championships do the Hawks have... oh thats right 0.
The way to play like the hawks: Dope up all your defensive players. Play PI all game long. Talk a lot of smack. Hope for mistakes by the other team. Be over-rated and not able to win on the road. The Hawks will get destroyed as long as the weather is ok. DEN by 25 pts. We need to play Saint football. Our D is balling, but our O needs to turn all the yds into points and you do that by running the ball more effectively. |

And also, in my opinion, we were just as physical as they were. Their receivers checked out of the game after the big hits early on. They had only 9 receptions for the entire game. Their D line did a number on our offensive line but ours did the same to them. Also, Terron Armstead was a monster. He dominated Chris Clemons and Red Bryant all game long. We rushed for over a hundred yards against them on 4.2 yards per carry, which is higher than their season average allowed. There's not a doubt in my mind that had that game been played in New Orleans, the Saints would've won by two scores. |
