I think the new format, made the game a lot more interesting to me, the players seemed to have responded well to it. It wasn't confusing, at all to me and was for a change entertaining at the end......

There was definitely some hitting going on.

Probably payback for recent Saints victories over the Cowboys. I'm not sure I understand the incentive for O-line guys from other teams to protect a QB who regularly beats them during the regular season. Probably why Brees made sure to get all of the Saints players on his team.

A qb doesn't really "beat" an opposing teams offensive lineman. It would be different if he was playing a defensive tackle or someone who had manhandled him earlier in the year but he would really not have much of a reason to tank plays just because the Saints defense was beating him.

In the first Qtr. Drew looked just like Drew does for all of our first Qtr games. Yep... I am gonna burn on Drew.

You have LeSean McCoy in the back field and you 3-out passing... TWICE?

I agree with you Oak. I really hope this is not a sign that drew is starting to slow down. I know you said the playcalling was stupid but I also heard there were a lot of short passes.
A.qb like Brees should shine in the Pro Bowl, especially with the rules they play under.

Yes... Again he made a lot of short under thrown passes. Also again just like the regular season he was always under heavy pressure....

Just my thoughts but I think the offseason will be just what he needs. You get blindsided enough as a QB and you start shortening your throwing motion so you don't fumble on the arm cock... Like we saw against Seattle. Do it enough and it becomes a rut. He needs to rework his mechanics.

Even though he did have a few more interceptions than normal one thing I didn't see this year that I saw a lot of last year is him fumbling or throwing a pick because he tried to force the ball by just pitching it off as he was going down. Seems like he was a lot more willing just to take the sack this year than chance turning it over that way. Hopefully he will take a long look at his mistakes over this offseason and fix that as well.
A revamped offensive line wouldn't hurt either

The comment about INTs is another one that may be because of the timing of the ITS he threw but in reality Drew had his lowest INT % (1.8) this season since 2004 tieing his all time low % of INTs/Attempts. As far as for total INTs he threw 12 and that brother is his third lowest number of INTs other than 2009/2006 (11) and 2004 (7).

Drew's passer Rating this season was a career 4th best at 104.7. Other than his completion percentage being down by 2.4% 2013 was a better year for Drew than 2009.
