Two teams One Defense
Derw Brees (in Seattle):
Week 13 147 yards passing 0 Ints 1 TDs 1 Sack TOTAL Rushing Yards 44 Points Scored 7 Division Round Playoffs (In Seattle) 309 yards Passing 24/43 0 INTs 1 TD 1 Sack TOTAL Yards Rushing 108 Points Scored 15 Payton Manning (In New Jersey) 280 yards 34/49 2 INTs 1 TD 1 Sack TOTAL yards rushing 27 Points Scored 8 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Remember all of the comments from fans and members? Drew is done Our offense is soft We cant run Wish we had Denver's receivers Wish we had Payton Manning Wish we had a RB like Moreno Sean Payton is a terrible play caller Apples to apples except we played Seattle in the Clink. We out ran, passed and scored, the greatest offense in history that had never faced a top 5 NFC defense in that season until the Super Bowl. Ill take Payton, Brees, our WRs, our RBs, our entire team of the heralded Payton Manning any and every day of the week. |

It also gives us an insight into our team needs to improve our personnel as we will be facing this team again in the playoffs next year... until their cap is crushed with their soon to be pricey players.

You won't see many dynasty teams anymore with the high QB pay and salary cap. Its all about everyone having a level playing field (well except the Jags and Browns). Its a bit like communism without the cool beards.

Re: Two teams One Defense
I was thinking the same. The Broncos O-Line looked eerily like the Saints. Chalk it up to that defense and call it a day.

Except competitive balance spreads good players, whereas communism and socialism would spread the bad ones.

Ill take Payton, Brees, our WRs, our RBs, our entire team of the heralded Payton Manning any and every day of the week.[/QUOTE] And the Saints put those numbers up in Seattle, in the cold and blowing rain where Manning and company had near perfect football weather. In my opinion the Saints need to focus on upgrading the O-line to buy Brees more time in the pocket. Then get some real speed to stretch the D-secondary and make use of that extra time. |
