Rumor: Sproles to restructure with extension?

Saints will work negotiate extension Darren Sproles which reduces $ 4.25 M Cap Figure & ensures Darren remains w/ team beyond 2014.

Smart move, love his game but that's a big cap hit for a role player. Would like to see him getting more handoffs.

He was injured a lot last season, maybe even more than we knew or he let on. I would love the move.

I see him more of a special teams return type of guy. Also coming in after PT or Ingram have bruised up the line run right freaking past them.
However we got this guy named Drew Brees that throws for 330+ yards per game.

he was not productive as a returner at all this year: low averages, misplayed a couple of punts in the second Carolina game, even had an uncharacteristic fumble
I love having him back at a discount, but he need to be more involved in the rotation

I was a fan of cutting him lose with his current cap hit, but happy to see him stay at a reduced amount of cap...

Idk, I have never really been impressed with his return skills. I can't remember the last time he ripped one off. I do however think he has value in the way he is used on offense. He was having a great start this season. IDK what happened, maybe line play, maybe injury but he did quiet down towards the end. I think he still has a couple of years of serious play left in him though.
