I listen to Adam Schein quite a bit on XM and don't always agree with his commentary but his assessment of where he ranks Brees is fair.

Brees is Elite ... But he's not entirely elite ... He disappears on the road. Oh and I've never seen us win when down a couple TDs either... Brady Manning and Rodgers have erased 28 point deficits like a knife through butter ... Would like to see Brees do it ...

Brees also does most of his damage after the game is well in the bag... But when we need a score most we get absolutely nothing ( In seattles 30 8 ) times only come away with 15 points ... We need him to find that next gear

As many 5000+ yard seasons as all other NFL QB's combined, including Brady, Manning and Rogers, and he needs to find another gear?

You list three teams that wouldn't trade for him yet take issue he's rated fourth?

I just love those comebacks against nfl "elite" teams (cleveland, tampa, buffalo, san diego...)

Where was super bowl comeback? I guess even the "best ever" had some problems against that seattle D.


No, thanks. I like the way we play. There are few bad games in each season, but we dominate weaker oponents (no need for comeback when you are up 20 pts by halftime) and force true elite teams to bring their A game if they wanna have a shot against us.

Brees is fine. He will have to downgrade his game for better looking comeback section in CV.
