The Saints will need to make several moves to get under the salary cap by March 11. They're projected to be around $13-$15 million over the cap, and they'll need even more space to re-sign or use the franchise tag on free agent tight end Jimmy Graham...

Smith and Harper are two of only 13 players remaining from the Saints' Super Bowl roster. But it's possible that the Saints could part ways with up to nine of those players this offseason. Linebacker Jonathan Vilma, safety Malcolm Jenkins, offensive tackle Zach Strief and receiver Robert Meachem are unrestricted free agents. And cornerback Jabari Greer, receiver Lance Moore and running back Pierre Thomas are potential salary-cap casualties.

Just shows you what a good job we've done revamping/reloading over the years. Other than Strief, Greer and PT all of those guys are afterthoughts on the current roster.

I think Moore and PT can contribute and is needed on this team. Everyone else I can part with or re-sign for less. We are drafting a WR anyway so might as well let Meachem to make room for that pick.

Vilma isn't 100 percent now then he should retire.

That housecleaning cartoon is great, a picture is worth a thousand words!
Our Super Bowl memories and the players are both getting old sad to say!

Meachem was on a one year contract, we wont resign him but it's not saving us any money...same with Vilma.
We still need to cut some big contracts, I'm thinking Moore is the next one to go. Sproles will take a cut to stay, but that leaves PT and Cadet on the outside looking in.
