Our best defense, is long sustained drives with our offense. This means pumping Deuce full of carries, with Karney lead blocking. Not to be cliche, but that opens up the play action, when you can go downfield. It's not the point of keeping the Chiefs offense off the field, as much as keeping our crap defense off the field.

Chiefs Gameplan...
On Defense
1. Crowd the line and take Deuce out of the game
2. Cover the deep routs and force Saints to throw short/intermediate
3. Saints wiil shoot selves in foot (penalties, fumbles, drops, interceptions)
Play smart, play safe and the Saints will beat themselves.

On Offense
1. Cut-back runs. Its there all day.
2. Throw short/intermediate when Saints cover deep.
3. Throw long when they cover short.

KISS, and you\'ll beat the Saints easily.

u know what i thought i saw us still doing that stupid two te set last game. maybe im wrong. it also seems that teams r just outright blitzing us every down. we dont seem to have an answer to it. i think we showed a weaknees to that in the minnesota game. didnt it seem like all the chargers did was blitz last game. they made us look real bad.

you could not be more correct when saying the key to this team..is long..time consuming drives...thats our only vantage point..when we can execute...however...when even our most celebrated veterans are out there making just plain stuid mistakes...on both sides of the ball..top that with our turnover ratio..which i do not have a number on now...but i will in a moment...but yeah..your right..the only prayer this team has..of just keeping pace..is sustaining long drives..and scoring...keep our defense off the field...i don\'t think i\'ve ever had to say it like that before...but in truth..they are the real weakness of the team..

Turning in long, time-consuming drives will be easier said than done. While KC\'s defense still sucks overall, the run defense is beginning to shine. We lead the league in stops behind the line of scrimmage. Last week, except for ONE long run by Pittman, we held him to 52 yards on 19 carries (that\'s a 2.7 yard per carry ave.) We held Edgerrin James to a lot less than 100 yards. We held Jamal Lewis to under 100. The run D has been the lone shining star in an otherwise dull defense. I think NO\'s best bet is to get in a shootout. We can\'t win them all. Even with Priest out, Derrick Blaylock has shown himself to be a more than capable backup and Larry Johnson I think is itching to show what he can do. Our WRs are good # 2 guys, but very servicable in our offense. Obviously, Tony Gonzalez is himself, and our O line is dominant. But our defense can\'t stop anybody. I think if used properly, Horn could have a career game against our secondary. Our safeties seem afraid to hit somebody, and while CB Eric Warfield has been a solid corner this year, his cohort William Bartee is average at best. Our front four has been getting much better penetration than in years past (much due to the play of FA addition DT Lionel Dalton). But our linebackers are injured. MLB Kawika Mitchell (backup to starter Mike Mazlowski) couldn\'t hold on the to starting spot over newcomer to the position, Monty Beisel. Then Beisel got injured, and Mitchell stepped back in and has been playing fairly well. Now OLB Shawn Barber is on injured reserve, and Beisel will be stepping in, as will ST ace Quentin Caver. It\'ll be a tough game. In a shootout, anybody can win.

I liked Edwards a LOT! Wish he wouldn\'t have left, but money is money and DV wasn\'t willing to give him the cash to keep him. Besides, my understanding is that Edwards wanted to be away from Greg Robinson and wanted by with Marty Schottenheimer. I think it\'s kind of sad when a player like Seau, who spends many glory years in one place, a player like Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Marcus Allen (both Chief retirees), etc. can\'t retire in the place where they made their names. It\'s kind of sad. Kinda like Willie Roaf. While I love the fact he\'s on our team, and think he\'s played some of his best football here in KC, that kind of player should start and end with the same team. It\'s like Will Shields here. Arguably one of the best offensive linemen to play in the league, along with Roaf, and I would be devastated if Shields ever left Kansas City. He\'s a staple in KC football. As far as words between Roaf and Horn, I don\'t really expect anything. I do know what allegedly happened, but they play on the same side of the ball, so they\'ll never see the field together, and they\'re professionals -- Roaf especially. I think it will be pretty quiet. I expect more out of Horn about how KC shouldn\'t have gotten rid of him. So, why teh questioning about Edwards? Just because he\'s formerly of KC? Curious.

And this is the coolest smilie EVER. :lightsabrefight:

It\'s hard to establish a running game when you\'re playing from behind the whole game. How many points have the Saints scored in the first quarter and how many have their opponents scored?!!
