New Orleans Saints DE Cameron Jordan had just returned from a vacation in Europe when he heard the news – the Saints had parted ways with four veteran defensive leaders - Jabari Greer, Roman Harper, Will Smith and Jonathan Vilma.

Jordan said it was devastating news to hear at first because of the impact the foursome had made on and off the field.

“With what they do off the field as captains, with the leadership that they have exuded, for the years they have been on the team…you have to give it up to them,” Jordan said at an autograph signing Sunday. “Hopefully I can make them proud and continue what they’ve been doing for the Saints.”

Love this guy! I don't know what the heck we're going to do next offseason when he becomes a free agent but I hope he's around for a long time!

No offense, but I'm fully expecting his bar to be set much higher than those 4.

He's got difference-maker written all over him. Those other 4 were not difference-makers.

Nice to see a guy live up to his first round draft choice expectations.

Jordan, Vaccaro, and Lewis are the new wave of defensive leaders. I like the new wave much better

With these young guns getting pressure up front a safety or corner in the first round sounds good to me. We need to have the talented play makers ready when our front line gets pressure.
He is great but I sure hope we don't have to sign him to a monster contract next year.
