Cost for RFA tender on Johnson would've been $1.4 million. Glenn Foster and Tyrunn Walker will make about $1.1 million next year combined and those guys were earning playing time over Johnson last season. I'd say this is a no-brainer by the FO. I like Johnson but you have to cut costs somewhere.

I really had high hopes for him, but unfortunately it didn't all come together for him with the Saints.

He is a better fit for a 4-3 defense, and he'll undoubtedly find a new team in the NFL.

I had high hopes for him... I don't think he underperformed, it's just a financial decision. Now let's just hope he doesn't end up in Atlanta or Tampa Bay because unfortunately he'd be a good fit on their D-Lines.
