Well thought out polls help generate valuable discussion for these boards. They also provide vision into options that many of our members are unaware of.

Remember fellow Saints fans we have had the top offense many years before Jimmy came along. I guarantee you if Jimmy left we would still have a top 4 offense. So is Jimmy worth the money? Yes, but not to this team; we don't 'need' him.

We also had a top offense with Aaron Brooks as well. So I guess we don't really "need" Drew Brees either. We had a top 5 offense without a bonafide WR1, do we really "need" to sign/draft one? We had a top 5 offense with DLP at C, do we really "need" to upgrade? We had a top 5 offense with Pete Carmichael, do we really "need" Sean Payton?

In a sense I get what you're saying. For the most part, I've always felt like practically everyone is replaceable. But you don't just let your best offensive weapon entering his prime walk away over a few million dollars. I don't understand why people are acting like signing Graham will financially cripple us. While we may technically not need Graham to remain a top 5 offense, I guarantee you our front office and Drew Brees feels otherwise. When he signs his contract, whether be the franchise tag or a long term deal, that should speaks volumes of whether or not he's "needed".

He's going to get paid... a lot of money.

I agree. And having him in can at times make us look pretty damn one dimensional. There were times at the beginning of last year where he was the only one Brees would throw to. If he gets WR designation I say we sign and trade or go for the comp pick.

hey mickey the fans have spoken. get out the clever and a pen you got your work cut out for a few more years to come or till the cap catches up to the salaries we are willing to pay as fans and that too has been pushed back.

dam money tree is looking mighty bare. Better start getting multiple picks in the draft and start hitting an average of .700 for the year for the next couple years because signing FA aint looking so good. our or anyone other teams.
