The love for Collins is another item I cant wrap my head around.

He is a FB, and had 1 good game last season blocking. That was against Dallas, even Scott Shanley had a good game that day.

Other than that, he is flatline on blocking or less than average.

He ave 3 yards per carry, and 3.6 yards per catch, he was thrown at 19 times and dropped 2 of them.

Teams are starting to do away with FBs, and I am not sure I could name 5 that played last year off the top of my head. Stats show other wise, I just cant recall many other than Tolbert, Kun, Sherman.

And do you remember how good Austin looked running and catching last pre-season? He looks like a natural runner with soft hands. He could be our Mike Tolbert.

Nothing against Collins but I could go for a big, soft handed back lined up in the backfield, talk about another weapon, I'm all ears!!

It was only a few plays, and they weren't exactly big gainers, but you could see the soft hands and the quick feet and RB balance. He broke quite a few tackles on one play just to get back to the LOS.

I wanna see more.

Also, all that success we had running the ball late last season? A large majority of it was in single-back sets. Ingram in particular seems to run much better without a lead blocker. I don't hate Collins at all, but that's a position where you can save some money and not lose anything much in terms of performance.
