Packers official on making run at Jimmy Graham: 'dumb, beyond dumb'
When I saw the rumor was from Bleacher Report, I knew it was Bovine Scatology!
According to a report, at least one team would be willing to forego a king's ransom in order to acquire recently tagged New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham. Mike Freeman on the Bleacher Report says "word is beginning to leak" that the Green Bay Packers would be that team. One would think nothing more than two first round draft picks and a pretty hefty salary for Graham would suffice, but that's a lot to give up. The tight end-needy Packers would be a great place for Graham, but when asked for comment, a Packers official said the idea was "dumb, beyond dumb ... won't happen." PFT has a good read on the Graham situation. My take is that the Saints are definitely in control of the situation.

I could care-less what team if any are considering going after Graham... I'd gladly welcome it and run away with the two first round picks we'd steal...

Re: Packers official on making run at Jimmy Graham: 'dumb, beyond dumb'
In summary:
Seahawks - Nope, already paying Harvin a boatload. Need to pay their Superbowl contributors more. Packers - Nope, obviously not their style to give up the picks. They need to spend on D instead. Cardinals - Nope, cap space would be tight. They had to restructure Fitz just to get below. Patriots - Nope, two highly paid TEs? Don't think so. Need D spend. Chiefs - Nope, cap space issues. Browns - Possible, but AFTER the draft. That way they would give up 2015 and 2016 1st rounders instead of this year. High price since they'll probably stink again. Dolphins - Possible, AFTER the draft like the Browns. But they have a ton into Mike Wallace. Although Graham played college at the U. |

Seattle has 16m in cap space presently and released Sydney Rice so one could argue they are one big red elite receiver from being better than they were last year. If they cut Beckam and miller that frees up another 6m.

Seattle doesn't make sense...why pay 10M/yr to a one dimensional TE when you run more than pass. Also throw in the fact that he is "soft" to play in a division that is known for physical play...which would mean that you are paying him 1M/gm...cause for 6 of them he will be non existent...
