Champ Bailey - Future Saints Free Safety?
this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Bailey should have been gone from Denver 3 years ago. We are pretty stocked on leadership on defense.... Any more, any older... and we would have to call it wisdom....

Saints are bringing in the big names like Delmas and Bailey to rattle Bush, a restricted free agent, to sign for less...
The tenacity and fierceness I saw in Bush in the playoff game really reinforces my position that we get him back this season, but at a reasonable cost... |

I would certainly sign him. At worse you get a guy who can fill in as a nice back up / nickel type player, or you may get a guy who may be able to still start and perhaps still dominate. Free safety is a very logical move, and as long as his health holds up could easily be among the league leaders in interceptions. Now if for some reason he really doesn't have anything left, I am sure that would be exposed during training camp and the team can simply release him at that point.
