It wasn't as hard a pitch as people are making it out to be.... Plus he came here and got first a first hand look at our revamped D... Last season...

Its a great deal imo.
The $54ml sounds huge but only $28ml is gaureteed.

Its a great move with that in mind.Get the best years of his career and not be on the hook for tons of dead money if he declines in later years.
