I'm not rooting for him in Carolina..I just appreciate the effort he brought..Because I've seen a lot of players come to New Orleans and stay on the we're losers so I'll just get paid and make sure I'm straight!!This guy helped changed the culture of Saints football!

I wish him well, but it was certainly time to part ways with him. I can't really comment on how well he'll fit the Panties' defense, but he'll certainly provide some veteran leadership and accountability to that lockerroom.

Harper’s continued to be one of the Saints’ most consistent and dependable defensive performers, as one of the NFL’s most physical strong safeties. He’s the only safety in franchise history to have been selected to two Pro Bowls. Since being selected in the second round out of the University of Alabama by New Orleans in the 2006 NFL Draft, he’s started all 99 games he’s appeared in at strong safety, and totaled 701 tackles (496 solo), six interceptions, 17 sacks, 52 passes defensed, 13 forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. Harper finished second on the squad in 2012 with 124 stops (91 solo) while also adding nine passes defensed, two interceptions and a forced fumble.
