No I don\'t think Haz will be fired. I do think however changes will be made. My bet is we\'ll see a new defensive coordinator, maybe on offense too. I think the heavy lunch bunch will get an ultimatum too. Lose weight or else. I really don\'t look for to many personnel changes player wise, but you can bet some changes will be and need to be made.

As usual we agree Gator. There is some great coaching talent out there, and we need to take advantage. I\'d love for us to get rid of Haslett. I\'ve been pushing the Marvin Lewis idea now for a while. Norv Turner has also doen a great job as the offensive coordinator in Miami. You\'re right, we need a change.
However, I also agree with Joesam - Haslett\'s not going anywhere. This organization is spineless, and it has shown over and over and over again that no matter how obvious something is to the fans, analysts, other coaches, etc., they cannot see it. My bet is that Haslett will stay and Brooks will start again next year. I don\'t expect much difference either. You see, Haslett bases his decisions on what he sees everyday. Brooks may be a great player in practice. The bottom line though is that none of that sh-t matters. It\'s the games that count and he has proven that he does not have the type of leadership, instinct, smarts, or accuracy that an NFL QB should have. Haslett will stick with him to his own demise, and the Saints WILL waste this talent they have. How do I know? If things ever really changed around here we\'d all be gushing about our 12-4 finish and first round bye. Same old Saints is not just a saying, it\'s a way of life, an attitude, that defines this entire organization. |

That\'s a truly depressing post from WhoDat. The truth does hurt. How far do we take this logic? Maybe it\'s time to actively encourage Benson to move the team. I think our mental health (and the state of my marriage) would improve immeasurably. We could concentrate on teams with true character - like McNeese, LSU, SU, ULL - all more worthy of support than this bankrupt Saints organization.

Benson was quoted as saying he wasn\'t properly notified of moves that Mueller was making. It seemed to be an ego thing more than anything. All of Mueller\'s moves have proved to be ingenious, especially the Ricky trade.
With all that being said, Benson being a business man and all....I don\'t think he was pleased with Haslett-theplayoffsslipaway bashing the fans. Especially after Benson has been trying to sell Louisiana on building him a new stadium. JH has thrown the proverbial monkey wrench in his plans if u ask me. |

Gator - there\'s all kinds of speculation about the Mueller move. The two things that I have heard that seem most realistic to me are:
1. Benson wants his niece to take over the team and asked Mueller to train her. He said he would but basically completely ignored her and she went crying to uncle Tom. 2. Mueller was power hungry. He had cameras installed in meeting rooms and all over the Saints facilities. He wanted to know what everyone was saying and doing at all times. He made moves without consulting Benson and generally thought the show was his to run. Now, I was surprised by these things when I heard them and I\'m not sure how much truth there is in either. However, I think Mueller probably was at least doing things without anyone else\'s consent. Wouldn\'t you? With the total ineptitude in this organizatio, if you were a bright young manager, wouldn\'t you try to do as much on your own? I would. Why deal with the morons when you know your choice is right? This is why New Orleans will never have a true contender while Benson owns the team. Legitimate coaches and managers will not come to New Orleans b/c they don\'t want to deal with Benson\'s ego, the organization\'s overall stupidity, or try to create a winning culture in a place that has known nothing but lossing and embarrassment for so long. |

In my opinion the best thing that could happen to the SAINTS organization, not to mention the SAINTS\' fans, the city and the state of Louisiana would be for Benson to get fed up and sell the team to someone else that would really work to put a winning team on the field. That would take some major housecleaning -- new coaching staff and player personnel that have the desire to give it their all for the entire season, not just make a showing for long enough to ensure a continuing paycheck.
If I had the money, I\'d do it in a second. Hasslett and the whole bunch would be out the door before the could say choke and Brooks would be carrying all of their bags. David in Houston |

I hear ya. I only had one matching number on one line in the X-mas Powerball. But if I had won, you might be looking at the new owner of the SAINTS (or maybe at least a partial owner). And they\'d stay where they belong -- i New Orleans!
