Re: Saints re-sign Joe Morgan
Three more seasons, 10 more receptions.
Not a fan of this at all, if we are moving on enough to release Moore then we have moved on passes Morgan and his injuries. |
Re: Saints re-sign Joe Morgan
I honestly expected Morgan to be cut.

Re: Saints re-sign Joe Morgan
The difference is, Moore was going to cost 4 million or something. Morgan costs the minimum salary and if he can't hack it, he's cut and we lose nothing.

Saints re-sign Joe Morgan

Haven't seen the offer yet, so I was going off of just the re-sign. |
Re: Saints re-sign Joe Morgan
Keep in mind, he may have been on IR, and not on the field, but the guy was in all the meetings, studied the same film, and had the same playbook to learn, probably even prepared for opponents just like the players did...at bargain basement prices Morgan is probably a better pickup than just someone random off the street.... Players on IR don't go off into a vacuum or sit on a couch somewhere; they are generally WITH the team for the entire campaign....I'm sure the year off was not a total loss for him, in terms of NFL experience. Something to think about anyway.

Re: Saints re-sign Joe Morgan
he's one of our better ball instinct receivers, has that ability to know where the ball is, short or over his head. good hands people, whats not to like, yes hes been hurt but who hasn't been. the man earned a spot on the roster for a reason and he was brought back for a reason. if Malcom Jenkins had half of ball instinct ability of morgans he would have never been let go.

Re: Saints re-sign Joe Morgan
I like the decision to bring him back. He has experience with the team like SaintsBro mentioned and showed great signs in those games he played. He cant be too expensive and hopefully he will stay healthy and show he deserved to be resigned.

Re: Saints re-sign Joe Morgan
My pause has nothing to do with missed or lack of experience or being injured for 1 season.
It had everything to do with three seasons in the NFL and not one full healthy one. You could have Jerry Rice in his prime under contract but if he can't get out if the whirlpool it's a bad signing. Obviously standing on the sideline making $555k is not a total loss for a player, it is however a total loss for the team. A healthy Joe Blow off the street that can play is more valuable than a Joe Morgan on the sidelines. |
