Semantics. If you are going to call people out, don't cop out on it later. If you really thought it was only a small minority then you wouldn't have bothered to speak out against it.

BTW, I'll give you 2 guesses as to what color I am.

Re: What About THIS Guy?

How did a thread that isn't about Jimmy Graham or a Poll about Polls get in here? Change the title to "What if Andy Tanner Was 6'2" and ran a 4.3?" I make sure I read every post in a thread to be certain I'll have a problem with it's content.

And if you remember Moore's early career, it took him a while at the bottom of the depth chart and the practice squad waiting for a chance too. I resent the notion that anybody who likes Tanner is some kind of closet racist.

On the flip side, if he made the active roster last year over a few other deserving players (Roby was our ST captain and Preston Parker was very good in the preseason) AND if Payton went to all the trouble to keep him around on the practice squad all year, then maybe there's something in him that they like and want to develop.

And the rest of us wish you would stop making nonsensical posts about how terrible you think Strief is, or the continual tirades against Brees in game threads, or any of the other silly crap you say on a regular basis.
So it makes no sense to complain when Brees has a bad game, or disagree with the notion that Strief is some Pro Bowl, All World, #1 rated RT like PFF wants to believe, but it makes all the sense in the world to build up a guy who can't even make the team year in and year out? If he had half the amount of potential y'all think he does he'd at least be getting some reps in regular season games. But nah, we went out and signed Meacham when we got low on WR's. We're looking at Sidney Rice. We'll probably draft one. But I don't make sense. Foh bruh. Don't try me with that too emotionally attached to players bs most of you got going on.

Right now Tanner is nothing more than a placeholder. While he is under contract, that contract is completely non-guaranteed and he is subject to being cut in favor of a more dynamic receiver who has the ability to stretch the field. Joe Morgan may be that player, or it may be someone in the draft or free agency. What he has shown me is that he can catch the ball in the preseason against other hopefuls trying to make a roster. Nothing more or nothing less. I trust the front office to judge his potential.
I get where you going fam. Let's not pretend it's not out of the ordinary to gravitate to people who look like you or share common ties. Peyton Hillis was on the cover of Madden after that year he had with the Browns. It's rare to see a white rb, and it's nothing wrong with white people taking pride in that, or people I general being more affectionate to it for that reason. I dont See It As Racist. I understand completely what you're trying to say.

Re: What About THIS Guy?

back to the OP-
lot of talk about him getting his 'chances'
The guy has had 3 years to make the team, so he has had many more chances than the average 26 year old. He has literally been cut 30 times and not one other team has ever picked him up
time to move on

Agreed Lord Saint but Parker is with another team now & apparently our coaches didn't think he was capable of a 53 man roster spot in New Orleans.

I think our next 'all star' WR is in the upcoming draft.

What About THIS Guy?

Tanners appeal is his undying spirit and everlasting drive. He symbolizes the opposite of Michael Lewis, he is pure hard work and want, where as Lewis was pure talent.

He's the little engine that could.... Or can't.

Want doesn't mean can or will.

Time to let Rudy move on.
