I feel like that speed on the outside matched up with Stills and Morgan is more beneficial then a TE version of Marques Colston; whom might I add is way more willing to sacrifice his body and not alligator arm throws over the middle. Even if it means getting blown up. Who was playing TE in 2009? Jeremy Shockey on his last legs? The Packers won the next year without Jermichael Finley; just the super trio of Jennings, Driver, and Nelson. Which we could have with Desean, though I doubt we get him. The Giants won the next year. Who was their TE? I don't even know right now off the top of my head. Then the Ravens. Dennis Pitta and Ed Dickson? More like Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith. And this year. The Seattle Seahawks. I'm just under the logic of WR being more important then TE. Which is why WR's get paid more then TE's by a large amount.
I know, you've made it pretty clear and I respect your opinion. I disagree with just about every word you typed, but I do respect your opinion.

I could throw a bunch of stats at you to show you that Graham has out produced Desean Jackson.

I could list all the tight ends and their numbers, that have played for Sean with Drew to show you that Graham isn't just another TE in the Payton/Brees system.

I could bring up lots of news reports of how Desean sat out of team meetings because he didn't want to go over the middle.

I could talk about how Desean announced to the press that he wanted a new contract less then two years after signing a 5 year deal that made him the 7th highest paid Wide out in the league.

I could show that Desean disappeared in more games than Graham this last season.

But I don't think you'd care about any of that.

So while I respect your opinion, I'd take Graham.

Desean never had Drew Brees or Sean Payton either. Moss didn't want to go over the middle, and never had to. Another guy I'd take over Graham. And I I hate to say all this because I don't not like Jimmy Graham. I don't want to get rid of Jimmy Graham per say. But I don't want to bet our future on a TE. Yeah, he's special. The other TE's we had couldn't touch him. But he's just targeted way too much, and with his skill set I feel like he should have 20+ td's and 2,000 yards receiving. Nobody should be able to stop a fade in the end zone on him. Nobody should be able to break up a slant from behind on him. He should win almost every jump ball. So until I see all that in a dominant fashion night in and night out, I want the speed demon who could return punts and break the game open at any time.

But I see where you're coming from. High character guy. Seems to get better every year and has a desire to do so. Loves Brees. Loves the city. What's not to like? Desean is the opposite. Arrogant. Obviously still highly influenced by the street culture he and a lot of guys in the NFL came from. More about money then anything ele. Has favorites (Vick over Foles.) Your every day, diva receiver. We don't have those in New Orleans.

I agree with that.

I've been on here arguing about how good Graham is for the past month because I think he's a top ten receiver in the league, but I've never argued that The Saints should pay over 10 million dollars a year for one receiver.

Just my opinion, but I think what makes the Saints offense so difficult to defend is the many ways they've been able to attack the defense. Cover the middle and the backs will beat you in the flats, cover the flats and the burners will beat you deep, cover deep and the slots will beat you on slants and outs... rinse and repeat. I don't know if it makes sense to put that much of the teams cap into one receiver.
