White, Stills lead Saints in performance pay

(Mike Tripplett)

Cornerback Corey White and receiver Kenny Stills received the most money of any New Orleans Saints players in performance-based pay for the 2013 season. The NFL allocates $3.46 million per team for performance-based pay -- most of which is awarded to players whose playing time exceeds their salary level.

White and Stills were both fifth-round draft picks (in 2012 and 2013, respectively). But they both played about 60 percent of the Saints’ snaps last year, with White starting six games and Stills starting 10. White received $212,448.55 in bonus pay, while Stills received $194,844.97.

Also earning more than $100,000 in performance-based pay were:

S Rafael Bush: $180,015.81
DE Akiem Hicks: $160,186.86
TE Josh Hill: $153,711.92
OT Charles Brown: $148,545.13
FB Jed Collins: $128,641.44
DT John Jenkins: $127,770.53
LB Ramon Humber: $116,845.11
LB Kevin Reddick: $110,834.00
OT Bryce Harris: $100,765.13

No compensatory picks: Once again, the Saints did not receive any compensatory draft picks based on additions and subtractions in free agency last year. Although the Saints did lose a top free agent in left tackle Jermon Bushrod last year, they signed a top free agent in cornerback Keenan Lewis.

The Saints have rarely received such picks in recent years because they've been so aggressive in adding newcomers. A total of 13 teams received compensatory picks this year.

I wonder if those guys even suspected that they might get a check. Wouldn't that be a nice surprise?

based on how much they played, and our players' history with PFP, I'm guessing they should have.
I remember Colston got a nice check way back when, I believe over $250,000

Saints are getting their moneys worth with those 2. Stills is starting to come into his own , and White isn't quiet ready for prime time, he is a solid #3 and improving. After all he did enough last year at the #2 to keep things afloat.
