When did White play safety? I know he was projected to play their but to my best recollection hasn't played there ever.

He never played safety at Samford, he played CB his entire career there. He was projected to be an NFL safety by some scouting sites.

To the best of my knowledge he has never played safety at any level, ever. I do think he could make the switch, but it'll take a season or two.

Ah, my mistake... For some reason I thought he did play safety in college. Well in that case I'm completely against moving him to safety. He looked really good at times last season and being from a small school he naturally has a larger learning curve. A little more refinement and he could be one tough CB. Why mess up a good thing now by changing his position?!
