Re: Pat Kerwin and Jim Millers latest mic draft.
Why? Teddy Bridgewater could easily slide on draft day and we could easily trade down.

Re: Pat Kerwin and Jim Millers latest mic draft.
I was listening to the draft and could see that happening.
BTW, that is a great show. |
Re: Pat Kerwin and Jim Millers latest mic draft.
Jax has 11 picks in this draft and an extra in rounds 2, 3, 4 and 7. It really makes sense.

Every single day on my 1hr commute home from work my station stays glued. I'm getting used to Miller, sort of preferred it more with Kerwin and Tim Ryan. "Talk about it" |

Not sure how early you are up but if you ever want to learn/hear about the inner workings and what goes on behind the scenes..... On Thursday mornings around 5:15am C, Ross Tucker has Andrew Brandt on, Brandt was the VP of the Packers and negotiated all the players contracts and managed their cap. That's great stuff! |
Re: Pat Kerwin and Jim Millers latest mic draft.
I do not want our #1 to go. While the draft is very deep, I believe there are certain 1st round players that can have an instant impact on this team. I don't want to trade back. Go for broke, hell give our 2 5th round and a 3rd for and early 2nd or late 1st. It's time to go all in this year.

Roll em back up into higher draft picks. I thought about that as well but people seem to get upset when I discuss the practicality of certain ideas. |

Re: Pat Kerwin and Jim Millers latest mic draft.
So, you think that trade couldn't happen? This was just last year:
Thursday, April 25 Vikings make bold trade with Patriots Vikings receive: » 2013 First-round pick (No. 29: WR Cordarrelle Patterson) Patriots receive: » 2013 second-round pick (No. 52: LB Jamie Collins) » 2013 third-round pick (No. 83: CB Logan Ryan) » 2013 fourth-round pick (No. 102: WR Josh Boyce) » 2013 seventh-round pick (No. 229: Traded to Buccaneers) Analysis:The Vikings made a big move near the end of the first round, sending four 2013 picks to the Patriots in order to draft Tennessee standout wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson. The move helps soften the absence of receiver Percy Harvin, who was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in March. The Vikings are the first team with three first-round selections since the St. Louis Rams in 2001. |
Re: Pat Kerwin and Jim Millers latest mic draft.
I'm no kind of draft wizard but I'd hope it would go the other way and the Saints trade up. I don't think the Saints have many "holes" to plug. I'd like to see them pick up a stud at inside linebacker, interior oline or wide out.

Re: Pat Kerwin and Jim Millers latest mic draft.
That draft is great for the Saints but screwed up every where else. OK trading up for a QB when they traded for Schaub? Browns trading up for to mid rd 1 for Carr when he will be there at 26? Houston trading for Mallett (only 1 year left on contract and is giving up a round 2 pick!!!!!)instead of drafting one? No Eric Ebron in the first? No Johnny Football in the first?

more than likely teams looking at WR would be calling us because odds are the panthers will be taking a WR with their pick right after us. |
Re: Pat Kerwin and Jim Millers latest mic draft.
IF its a deep draft you trade back and get more picks to grab more of this crop of players...

Pulling 3 starters out of a group of 14 is a lot easier than a group of 7. There is also the element of no other team being able to evaluate those rookies until after we decide who stays and who goes. Cruddy for the players but gives us better odds as filling gaps with the best available talent. |
Re: Pat Kerwin and Jim Millers latest mock draft.
Whether we trade up, stay pat or trade back doesn't matter to me. Which one offers us the best value? That is the scenario I'm looking for.
