Re: Trading up?

Just to get Watkins you are going to have to move into the top 4 and thats likely to set you back this years and next years first, this years second and probably another pick or two. Watkins is not worth that outlay, teams wont give up two firsts for Graham so no way our we giving up more for a unproven product.

Watkins is a good WR, but Marquis Lee and Kelvin Benjamin arent scrubs either, and can probably both be had at 27.

Too many holes in his game. I think he slips. Shazier is getting all they hype and becoming overvalued now.

Does either our offense or defense really have a glaring hole that'd make us trade up for an NFL ready player? Would it really be worth trading up for a kid that would be riding the bench for a year or two otherwise? I'm not seeing that. We have a couple of good coaches who work with the talent they have. There are many excellent athletes in the draft this year that'll be available when our number comes up. I don't know who they'll be, but I bet there's a surprise or two in store for us come draft weekend.

You trade up for a difference maker that equates to 4+ wins in a season, not filling holes.

If we make up a jump, I don't think it would be into the top 10 - your giving up way too much to move there, unless loomis pulls some magic act again

If we do trade up, I think it would likely be between spots 14-20 and nab odell beckham as watkins would be gone by then

If they jump between 14-20 it better be for Mosely, Dennard or Gilbert. You can get a good WR at 27 or even in the 2nd round for that matter.

Oh, so you're talking about a kicker? ;)

I'd like to stay put in the first round.......maybe trade back five spots if the offer is there. I would definitely trade up in the second round and if possible trade up in the third to get back in the second. Three difference makers could really help this team.
Let's not forget about the UDFA's that want to come to the Saints. :bng:
