This has got a lot to do with Brees the last two years. If Brees cuts down on the interceptions then this criticism will stop. But not many people are aware of the fact that Brees does not find the open guy.

You mean like 2013 when he only threw 12? In comparison 2009 he threw 11.

"Open receiver" is a subjective term. For Nick Toon to be open he must have 10 yards of free space, for Calvin Johnson or Andre' Johnson to be open they must have their helmet on.

Maybe. The bigger question is "Does he trust in Spaggs?"

You said yourself that Brees doesnt throw to players based on being open. The thing is when you look at the stats, his ints were mostly on the road and he threw more than 1 in half the games.

It's not just ints, he didnt have good receivers last year(or better yet, he had aging ones and a rookie) and Graham was hobbled. He was also badly protected by the LT until week 17 so it really had an effect on him there as well. The thing is the media lives off the past of how great our o once was and instead of pointing out those situations, they put it all on Brees being 35 and his "arm strength is falling off" I can't say how many times I heard people on other forums(variety not team specific such as Hoopla) say that about his arm. I am just hoping all of those things are not an issue this year.

Athleticism alone means nothing. We had a 400 lb guy who could do backflips but that translated into squat

I do not care the article mentioned Brees.

Who cares?

Brees is not the best. There is no best. There are only those who made some records, broke some records, and played some some really outstanding games. Those who took their teams and careers to higher levels. Those who reached the top of their profession. Those who pushed their team and made awesome games and seasons fun and interesting for all NFL fans.
There is a Best List. Many are on the Best List.
Brees has reached that inn his career.

Lets take this article about JM another way.
He is the hot name going into the Draft 2014. Every morning on NFL Net, there must be at least three stories about him.
Makes you feel sort sorry for him really.
THE HYPE!!! Buyer Beware!!! When a player is so hyped, it is really a disadvantage. PrEsSuRe on him!!
This guy has not played one quarter. Who knows how he will turn out? Maybe he will be on The Best List.
He could phase out light candles on a 6yr.olds' birthday cake too.
Tebow who? He believed the hype about himself. Biggest mistake one can make. He even had an actress from the play, Rock of Ages, take down her FB pic of them taken after he saw the play because the costume she was in and such could damage his Christian image. LOL!!!!
RGIIIRGIIIRGIII...won first game of career in LA Superdome against N.O. Saints. It was suppose to be all up after that. He strted out with a bang!
Ummmm...what is that I hear .....crickets,crickets.....LOL!!!
It was all downhill for him after that. Now, he and TPTB of WR got rid of Shanahan....gave RGII more of what he wants needs and time will tell.
Don't hold your breathe.

Cammy "It is everyone elses' fault but mine" Newton? Average guy.

Tony Phony Romo Oh No. He is still hyped by the NFL every season for his average play. He is average. Just average. Tony Phony Romo Oh No is star OFF THE FIELD that is with his , what was it, baseball game he went to with Whitten and they sat right in JJ box or some box suite with Clinton, Bush, etc. Romo Oh No has always been very busy, visible, and record breaking OFF the field. Of course he attended White House Corres. Dinner celeb thingy this weekend.

QB's who sneaked in. Who were bottom of the barrel, last pickings, so-so. Going to be good 2nd string. Average.
Brady was way down on the list.
Doug Williams. He came in. Did his thing. Won the big one, a SB. Left. Exit stage left and went on with his life as a university coach.
Brees and his bummed shoulder. Maybe he has like bionics, like the Bionic Man had in it or something.
PManning had to take a few years to really get going. He just has not stopped going yet.

Next year, everybody might be saying what was his name...that guy from last year? Johnny Manns...Mantz, something or the other like that.

That is not exactly what I said, you are throwing some loose interpretation in there as well.

What I have said a few times is that Drew inst a target of opportunity QB, he reads through route progressions and the receiver needs to be open to a certain degree in that route or close enough for Drew to throw him open.

He doesn't roll out right like Manziel and look to see who is open somewhere on the field. He stays in the pocket and reads the progression of the routes to determine which x he is going to hit, or for the quicker release passes he is throwing it to a mark on the field and the receiver better be there.

One of the A&M receivers recently stated that playing with Johnny wasn't very organized and his receivers never knew where he would be throwing from or who he would be throwing to consistently. Having a QB that can make plays is fantastic, having a QB that does it/tries to do it each and every down is very difficult to game plan around.
