Thats true, those teams do have quite a lot of picks every year but they arguably have more holes to address on their team than we do

We hardly ever have more than 7 picks in a draft and yet we always make it work, plus like danno said, if we started getting like 13 picks a draft - its likely 5 of those guys don't make the team because we are so good at finding and developing UDFA's

And since 2006, coincidentally the year Loomis and Payton teamed up, the Saints have won as many Super Bowls as those three franchises combined! That's right, how 'bout them?

But consider...

One, this is the deepest draft, possibly in twenty-five years...

Two, the more picks you have, the better you're chances of hitting good players...

Three, if the players that could have been selected with those extra picks would be an improvement over existing talented - why would the fact that they are rookies handicap them from winning a championship?!?

I agree with the premise, it's just that we obviously aren't building for the future. We're building for now. Looking for immediate impact.

For me the talent drop from the best prospect in rounds 1/2 to the mid range back end guys is far more than the round 5-7 and UDFA.

Superbowls, yes...

Playoff wins? Division Titles?

You're right about the future is now; I just prefer reloading to rebuilding...

And we're set to a course to rebuild...

All that only matters if you get to pick 32nd. Every season you don't win it all is a waste of time. Brees gets a little older, and the window closes a little more until we're comfortable with who's behind him.

True, but Bush had the same highlight reel in college...

My concerns are his size; he geauxs across the middle like Lance did on some routes - he may not walk off the field...
