Re: With the 58th pick in the draft, the Saints select Stanley Jean-Baptiste
The more I hear our radio crew talk about this guy the more I wonder if this guy was the right pick. To hear Bobby and Deke and all tell it this guy can't tackle, is not physical, lacks strength and cannot catch lol. They say he's more of a project. I would think this type of player would be a later round type of guy. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm neither excited nor disappointed by this pick. I really don't know what to think about it. He has great size and hops which would seem ideal. On the other hand he's pretty slow. In the old days when you were allowed to be more physical, I think he'd be prototypical, and would have been a first round pick. Not sure how he's gonna do with that lack of speed today. He's going to need to develop some instincts that I'm currently hearing is lacking in his game. If he can do that, then I'll be stoked.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

He was a receiver before he switched to corner, hands is not an issue with him. He is going to learn for a year under Champ and turn into a steal at #58.
