Re: Day Three: Wish list

Definitely think we need to start focusing on oline and LB in that order.

Devin Street, WR, Pitt
L'Damian Washington, WR, Missouri
Pierre Desir, CB, Lindenwood
Aaron Lynch, DE, South Florida
Marcus Roberson, CB, Florida
Louchiez Purifoy, CB, Florida
Jaylen Watkins, CB, Florida

Barry from MS 05-09-2014 11:39 PM

Re: Day Three: Wish list

Andrew Jackson / ILB (not the president) // 5th or 6th rounder
Chris Smith / DE - too small for 3-4 DE...OLB in 3-4 // 5th or 6th rounder
Murray / QB - one of the 4th rounders (LSU QB Mett-something won't be there when we pick)
Yankey / OL - one of the 4th rounders // need OL (who the crap we got backing up our Tackles and Guards? Harris? That's it? Yankey played both)

Wouldn't be opposed to another BPA WR or another LB...WR Norwood in 4th? Wouldn't hate that...

Re: Day Three: Wish list

Adrian Hubbard OLB Alabama 6'6 252

STRENGTHS Exceptional length and overall size for a rush linebacker. Good hand strength to leverage the edge. Flashes pass-rush ability -- nice bend and balance. Flattens down the line and is athletic enough to string out plays to the sideline. Is strong enough to set the edge, shed and defend the run. Good take-on strength and anchor.

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif OT McGill 6'5 321

STRENGTHS Looks the part with outstanding upper-body strength and massive quads. Stout anchor in pass protection. Violent shock in his punch. Plays with a nasty temperament and seeks to bury defenders into the ground. Aggressive run blocker -- runs his feet on contact and plays beyond the whistle. Is physically and mentally tough and will play through pain (fought through a torn left labrum injury as a senior and never took himself out of a game or missed time). Highly intelligent (in medical program) and football smart.

I would like to see the twin towers of Rufus Johnson and Hubbard at OLB

Tardif is a smart guy (pre-med), good blocker with a mean streak...move him to center.

I'd like either of these guys but I don't think a 6'5" Center is a good option for a QB that already throws on his tip-toes quite often.

Re: Day Three: Wish list

I think de'anthony Thomas would be an interesting dude to take now that we're in the 4th. I didn't think he would drop near this far. He's undersized but most teams are employing the running back by committee approach and every committee needs a specialty player like Thomas. I think he's a low risk-high reward at this point in the draft.

I wouldn't mind seeing them go after any those Florida corners who were so highly touted during the season, but for whatever reason have fallen. There must have been some reason why people were high on them, so it couldn't hurt to try. I'd like to upgrade the O-line, but I'm not crazy about any of the prospects left there. But I'm sure Payton and Loomis are looking at some guy from Saskatchewan university technical institute of technological technicity and tactical warfare. He's an under the radar guy, but he'll run you over.
