2nd round madness... Got GM?
My humble opinion on our recent 2nd rounders, Mr. Henderson and Mr. Stinchcomb:
If a 2nd round pick on a team mired in a 4 year playoff drought doesn't see the field after 10 games, then it was a bad pick. (Devery Henderson) If a 2nd round pick in his 2nd season on a team mired in a 4 year playoff drought doesn't see the field after 26 games, then it was a really bad pick. (Jonathan Stinchcomb) If this team was 2 or 3 deep with talent like New England, then I can understand drafting best-available-player and patiently waiting for him to develop. But on a team like ours, need trumps BPA. In hindsight, does anyone think Henderson was a wiser pick than Donterrious Thomas? Who was the "need" pick we could have had when we selected Stinchcomb? |

2nd round madness... Got GM?
The Stinchcomb pick all by itself is simply infuriating.
As it was, we could have taken Rashean Mathis, Jason Witten, Nate Burleson, Ricky Manning, Ken Hamlin, Anquan Boldin (taken with our pick by Arizona by the way), and Mike Doss. If we hadn\'t gone in for the fiasco that is Jonathan Sullivan. Then we could have had, Leftwhich, Jordan Gross, Marcus Trufant, or Polamalu. If we hadn\'t traded in the first place. Nick Barnett, Kwame Harris, William Joseph, Eric Steinbach, or Boss Bailey. Sullivan just keeps on hurting us. We gave up a king\'s ransom for that big sack of poo. Clearly, the front office thought that they could get away with some \"make us or break us\" picks. Sullivan, Stinchcomb, Kenny Smith, I could go on and on.
If it didn\'t work two years ago, why try it again the next year? But I do think that, aside from Will Smith a Rodney Leslie, we had a fairly good draft this year. We got two high quality players, Karney and Watson. And Bockwaldt didn\'t look too bad against Denver. Nevertheless, Loomkis needs to go. He has no idea what he\'s doing. He has done little to nothing to bring in a solid, consistent player to solve personnel issues at key positions, namely CB, LB, and a backup QB. |
When it comes to discussing Saints losses, Jack Daniels can be a great listener.

Speaking of make or break moves, don\'t forget about Tebucky.
