Falcons Close in on Division Championship PAUL NEWBERRY Associated Press FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. - Championships are a rarity around these parts. The Atlanta Falcons have three banners hanging from the roof of the Georgia Dome - two for division titles, another for their lone NFC crown in 1998. Barring a major collapse, they'll have to make room for another. ________________________________________________________ Please post a link instead of the complete article. Thank you. Keeping my fingers crossed that Vick tears an ACL...

Imagine if he did tear his acl....
Do you think Mora would pursue an upper caliber qb for insurance? Or ..much like what happened here with Deuce and Williams...He gets a number 1 pick to eventually replace him? |
Falcons Close in on Division Championship
hmmm .. if the guy stays heatlhy no if he does tear his ACl i think they\'d consider that. Vick has the biggest upside in football this guy would be crowned the next great if it wasnt for Peyton and the indianapolis air show. I mean who would have thought Vick could have a great year and not be talked about all that much i wouldn\'t have taken that bet. i think his backup schaub will be pretty ok if hes ever needed to come in a serve in place of Vick no matter how u slice it ATL aint **** without mike vike

I would talk smack and trash, but your team owner\'s beat me to the punch. Which High School do the Saints Represet? |

I don\'t care for Vick, but I won\'t go so far as to wish him any harm. I\'ve found when I do something like that, one of my favorites takes a fall instead!
But, in the event something happens to Vick, the Falcons should be in better shape than they were last year with Doug Johnson. Granted, I\'m talking preseason here, but Matt Schaub was pretty impressive when I saw him. He\'s certainly not a Vick clone (though he is mobile when pressured), but he seems a bit more accurate. I don\'t think he has Vick\'s arm when throwing for distance, but Schaub seems to have better touch on the short-to-intermediate routes. Again, I\'m talking how he looked in the preseason (Ron Dayne looked good in preseason, too), so if Schaub were to get his chance he might look more like Krenzel than Roethlisberger. In any event, he certainly surprised me, as I wasn\'t terribly impressed with him at Virginia. |

Admit it, Atlantans, without Michael Vick, your team is lower than whale poop, and whale poop is at the bottom of the ocean. :P |

Last year the Falcon\'s defense was diddly-poo. Terrible. But Mora and his coaches have coached them up, switched schemes, brought in new free agents (Rod Smith) , and drafted a highly ranked CB (who was hurt much of the season). But they are in the top half of the league in defense. Between Dunn and Duckett they have the potential to run the ball. They simply wouldn\'t collapse like they did last year. Schaub is better than Bowman IMHO. He could run the offense if Vick was unavailable. I painfully look at the Falcons as testament to what happens when ownership, front office, and coaches are changed. I\'m hoping they Saints can see that too. SFIAH |

There\'s little doubt that ATL will wrap up the division this year, and that the success is due to change of management by the owner.
They did it right. Unlike the \'Aints. But... that division crown is only for this year. I\'m sure you\'ll remember that ATL still has that curse, that they\'ve never had back-to-back winning seasons. And that\'s a powerful curse to shake considering the team is even older than the \'Aints. So... they\'ve got it this year, but we\'ll see what happens next year. |

I like to think there\'s hope in that... If Arthur Blank could do it so quickly and easily, with such strong results - then so could Benson, or anyone else for that matter. I believe it\'s just a question of getting the right management in there.
I just realized I\'m a... I\'m the prototypical Saints fan... \"wait till next year\".... Sometimes, you just have to laugh. It never changes. |

You have just crused your team by the power of 3 times your ill will. I would think that with Cajun knowledge of VooDoo and majic you would have been smarter than that...I guess not. There is no taking it back... Great Godess I pray you protect Mickael Vick From the Sacks and personel attacks Protect him from others that wish to cause him harm I pray you protect the Saints from harm for some of their fans have ill will and want our Falcons blood to spill I pray the game be fair and no one in need of repair Let Vicks passes land where directed and our recievers be protected I pray you let the Saints fans see,ill will can come back on their team with the power of 3X3 So mote it be |

Are you kidding with that mindless dribble BT??!! What makes you think your little winkie of a curse will even phase a Saints fan? Let me let you in on a little history, boyo, not only are we cursed by a once powerful voodoo priestess, we also have the souls of the dead rooting against us for disturbing their final resting place. And not even the Pope himself could bring relief with a blessing on our beloved Superdome. Not to mention the scores of voodoo high priestess\'s hired to lift the bad mojo intertwined forever in our history. You make us laugh with your silly little weinie of a hex, come big or don\'t come at all voodoo wannabe! And you know what? We still show up year after year, selling out the Superdome because we\'re true fans. Through thick and thin, unlike another group of fans I personally witnessed not showing up for a certain thrashing their supposed team took from our very hands. And the ones that did show up...... some were asleep in the stands in the 3rd quarter and the others were making a mass exodus towards the exits.

Oooo....here\'s a spell for the fans...
\"I\'m rubber and you\'re glue, what you say bounces off of me and sticks to you.\" (said with incense burning, which strangely smells of herb, and a beer in each hand) So saith the great oz.....uhmmmmm, uhmmmmm, uhmmmmm |

Just sit tight with those 2 beers as you will need them as the Falcons will kick the crap out of the Saints today. :P

\"wcw was right...no intellegent live here.\"
Hmmm...that would be \'life\' Mr. Intelligent. And as for needing those beers, anytime I have to watch a stadium full of fan wannabe\'s the alcohol dulls the nausea. :o |
Falcons Close in on Division Championship
Stadium full of wannabe`s is better than your stadium half full of never have or will be`s. :P
BTW,Bucs fans laughed off the spell too. They were not laughing after their QB got sacked a record 7 times and injured. :( |

Don\'t even compare dome attendance, better check your facts before going there. And what EXACTLY has your team won? The Superbowl? Ummm.....no. Division Championship? How many? Better check the two teams and get back to me on that one. And as for the wiccan prayer for the Bucs, pray on wannabe, give it your best shot. And after all is said and done you\'ll see the change in the Saint\'s team will be no different than it has ever been or any other team for that matter.

cASSady you have to be kidding.
The Falcons are way more sucessful franchise than the Saints. Afterall its your owner that questioned you teams manhood last week not us. :D Playing like High Schoolers is a pretty bad insult. Lets see how your chump team of cronic underachievers respond..Its my bet they simply turn the other cheek and take the beating they have comming and like it. :o BT is into your head! Bawhahaha. |
Falcons Close in on Division Championship
BT needs to get in his own head and find some intelligence. Where were you last year when you were picking 8th in the draft? It\'s common knowledge the Vicks are no good w/o Vick, so go worry about that. Must be lovely to have to hold your breath that your qb learns to slide anytime he runs out of the pocket. Get a clue. We know our team is bad, but coming off of last year you would think Falcons fans were more humble. I guess getting embarrased in their lone Superbowl visit wasn\'t enough. I guess that\'s why they are considered NFC South champions by default and not considered an elite team like the Eagles, Steelers, Pats, or even the Chargers. At 8-2 and noone respects them. So they look for teams in disarray to pick on. Big men Falcons fans. What a joke. The websites must be pityful for Falcons fans for ya\'ll to have to come here and talk smack. It must be hard since only 3 of ya\'ll learned how to log on. Give me a break.

5 game lead with 5 games to play.
No serious injuries(except Saints pride)and a Falcons win is all I wanted. BTW,the Saints did come with some game but not enough to over come Falcons mojo over them. ;) [Edited on 11/29/2004 by Halo] |

Black Talon and WCW. You talk **** all week about how sorry the Saints are, yet, the Falcons won by 3, at the end of the game. This is the first time that I watched the Falcons play all year, for obvious reasons. If you can\'t put the \"sorry\" Saints away by halftime, I feel for you. All you are doing is setting yourself up for a nationally televised playoff game where you will be embarassed by whoever you play. Good luck Dirty Bird Fans.
