Can Any Team Stop the Seattle Seahawks in 2014-15?
 

New Orleans Saints (20-1 odds)

It is hard to call them a “dark horse” but I believe this Saints team has every possibility to knock-off the Seattle Seahawks and win the whole thing as anyone.

STRENGTHS: As stated above, to beat Seattle and their tremendous secondary will take a good deal of balance. I am contradicting myself here as no one will claim the Saints are balanced offensive force. In fact a much more logical argument can be made for the Green Bay Packers being a threat with a healthy Arron Rodgers and we will see how that plays out the first week of the season. But the domination New Orleans with a top flight quarterback such as Drew Brees has at home and the versatility of their receivers in Jimmy Graham, Marques Colston and company including a rookie receiver in Brandin Cooks who some believe was a steal) , I believe presents basic match-up problems for even a team as talented as Seattle.

WEAKNESS: A lack of solid established running game as stated above.

OVERALL: It is a long shot, probably, but I am going to offer New Orleans as a team that can legitimately challenge the dominance of Seattle if all factors fall their way.

We can do it. I remember the "Can any team knockoff the Saints..." articles after our Super Bowl win. Back to back hasn't been done in a long time.

Green Bay
San Fran
Arizona
Philadelphia
St Louis
Detroit

They could all legitimately knock out Seattle, especially if the league stops letting them grab and hold.

Granted the road to the Superbowl still probably goes through Seattle but they make it seem as if they're so invincible. If the Rams got some decent quarterback play, Robert Quinn inc. has a chance to compete for the division. The Saints as a "dark horse" is a joke. Heck Arizona beat Seattle in Seattle last year.

The author needs to wipe those stains off his face.

I remember alot of hype about Green Bay when they seemed to have steam rolled everyone. Not the same team and its a different year.
For now let Seattle feels special...

Injuries, player attitudes after becoming champions, unexpected plays, weird calls, no-calls, etc. all factor into it. Seattle is no more of lock for HFA in the NFC as any other team at the top of the conference. Confidence is good, over confidence is not.
