Saints second round draft pick Stanley Jean Baptiste garnered a lot of attention throughout the draft process, being compared to the face of the new NFL corner (and Madden darling) Richard Sherman.

Lofty comparisons may put extra pressure on Jean Baptiste’s shoulders, but at Saints Mini Camp last week it was business as usual for the former Husker.

“I still have a lot of learning to do,” Jean Baptiste told NewOrleansSaints.com. “I’m just trying to pick it up piece by piece, [and associate] different names with stuff we used to do at Nebraska. For the most part I’m just trying to get myself more comfortable with the defense.”

Jean Baptiste went on to say he knew he was making mistakes during Mini Camp, but that his focus was on learning and giving 100% of his effort while on the field. He finished by adding that come the regular season wherever Rob Ryanb and the Saints defense needs him – whenever they need him – he’ll be ready.

learning curve is there for sure. year three as CB is upon him now. upside is football IQ. give this kid a couple of years then we will have a solid idea of what we got. till then forgive a few bone head plays we will get from him. growing pains
