The club is raving about rookie WR Devery Henderson's progress during practice. Henderson, who has grown comfortable with the offense, has tremendous explosiveness out of his cuts. Because of the team's depth at receiver, he has played in only one game. The team might like to find more playing time for him.

Weird - I just heard the exact opposite somewhere. I heard that he wasn\'t playing b/c basically he is too dumb to learn the offense. That at LSU they basically said, \"go long Devery\" or \"run a slant\" and he did. Now he can\'t understand the verbage. That\'s just what I heard, but I can\'t remember where now.

Cannot see the Saints not starting anyone because of their intelligence level -- if that were the case I am not sure we could field a starting squad.

Speedy recievers, regardless of their mental capacity, are great to have, but when your offensive line is as pourous as a sieve, and you\'re quarterback is literally running for his life as soon as he touches the ball, speedy recievers don\'t really make any difference...

plus, never believe anything you hear about what happens at practice... seems like every week after they\'ve discovered a brand new way to lose and/or find a brand new way to utterly disapoint... Haz always says something to the effect of, \"Well, we looked great in practice this week...\"

it really is hard to be a saints fan most of the time, guess I\'m a glutton for punishment...

Guys - speedy receivers aren\'t that valuable if the guy can\'t understand the play call. If he doesn\'t know whether Brooks is calling a pass or run, let alone what his route or even options for a route might be, he\'s no good on the field - in fact, he hurts.

There\'s a thread around here, I can\'t remember which one, where I was discussing the exact same thing with someone. We know what he did well at LSU, go deep. SO what the hell is so hard about telling him to run as fast as he can towards the endzone? Is that too hard to comprehend? He did it in the preseason and looked damn good. Just tell him \"Okay this play is a pass, you go deep.\" Or \"this plays is a run, you block.\" If the offense is too complicated, dumb it down for him and let him do what he does. He was a 2nd rounder for crap\'s sake. Keary Colbert is already paying off for Carolina.
