There is no such position as a slot receiver.
The "Slot Receiver" is anyone lining up wide of the line and inside of the WR. RB/TE and WR can receive in what is regarded as the slot. Look at the link below show Sproles lining up in the 'slot' and then Graham doing the same. Neither are WR but lining up a few yards off the traditional position that a TE/RB would line up to get them a clean go The wording and tags need changed but that should have no impact on this case as it stands.
