Re: NFL History: Saints are one and done
IDK about dynasty, but I'll agree with the premise that the Saints are one of the 'big-dog' franchises. When I think of "dynasty", I think of teams like Lions ('50s), Packers ('60s), Steelers ('70s), 49ers ('80s) & the Cowboys ('90s), Patriots (new millennium). Honorable mention goes to Bills ('90s), Redskins ('80s), Vikings ('70s), Dolphins ('70s).
Winning your conference 3x (or more) in a decade is prerequisite to dynasty status, IMO. |

The ball bounced our way on '09........this year we are forcing turnovers in every game. The ball is bouncing our way again.

09 we couldn't lose even if we wanted to.. at least not the first 13 games.

So far nobody is running away. Manning is the only one in the 10s to go to two sbs since 2009, but with two different teams. Last five years it has been Indy, Pittsburgh, New England, Baltimore, and Denver representing the AFC. The NFC has been represented by NO, GB, NY, SF, and Seattle. Out of the NFC teams, Seattle is the most overrated in terms of dynasty talks, NY will probably go one more time with Eli but SF, NO, and GB have the best odds in the next year of going back a second time. |
