I have yet to hear one writer on announcer on ESPN say good things about Brooks. Not on NFL Live, not on NFL Matchup, not on Sportscenter. They don\'t deny he has talent, but his errors are too crucial to cover up. Also never heard the guys on Inside the NFL on HBO say anything about him. They usually say something along the lines of, \"This team has taken on the schizophrenic quality of its quarterback with its up and down play.\"

They\'re not looking deep enough. The team has taken on the schizophrenic character of their coaching staff. One week they call a good game and do things that make sense, the next week we we go for it on fourth down on our half of the field and give Duece the ball only a dozen times. Bah.

This is not a surprise. The only people who think Brooks is a quality starter are on this forum. The rest of the world knows he\'s only worth a damn when he\'s got 5 seconds unmolested in the pocket. Any QB in the NFL should be able to do something right with that much time. What separates the men from the boys is how well a quarterback deals with adversity, both on and off the field. Brooks deals with adversity by not caring one way or the other. In fact I can\'t ever recall hearing or reading Brooks say he hates to lose. Usually he\'s statements are \"I did the best I could\", \"I just do my job\" or some other meaningless nonsense. And this goes beyond his silly grins on the field. The only reason he\'s not phoning it in is because Joe Horn already did that last year. |
