Man I could stare at this roster all day. Great battles coming....Robinson/Ingram, Stills/Morgan, Toon/Hull/Coleman. I think Lorig could be what gets this team over the hump.

Re: 2014 New Orleans Saints: Depth Chart

Looking at our running backs and their size, I was surprised to learn that Robinson, not Ingram looks like our biggest dynamo...

Pierre Thomas - 5' 11", 215 lbs.
Mark Ingram - 5' 9", 215 lbs.
Travaris Cadet - 6' 1", 210 lbs.
Khiry Robinson - 6' 0", 220 lbs.
Tim Flanders - 5' 9", 207 lbs.

Anybody at camp see any names not on this list that could push for the final 52?!? Apparently the Long Snapper, number 53, is a given...

Any news on Je'Ron Hamm, Nic Jacobs, Brandon Coleman or Steve Hull?!?

Or how the battle for the strong safety spot is going between Ty Zimmerman, Marcus Ball or Vinnie Sunseri?!? Will we have a fifth safety with FS Pierre Warren?

Will we keep Goodwin if Lelito wins the job?!?

Brandin Cooks showing screen game, stealing the show | ProFootballTalk

During Tuesday’s practice, Cooks took a quick bubble screen the distance, and the video of him pulling away from the Saints defense is frankly alarming.

This report brought to you by PFT's Gnatt - Saints Hater...

Now, question is, could Cooks push Stills to the 3 spot?!?

Could Toon? This could be a year where the talent itself pushes the running game to the back burner.

Oh no, we've got to have that 50:50 run:pass play ratio - if we haven't learned our lesson yet...shame on all of us...

What we have is depth - must have ingredient to winning a Championship...

Cooks is way ahead of any WR on the Saints roster. I have no doubt that Cooks will lead the WR core in receiving yards. Colston had his worst NFL season last year and isn't getting any younger. Stills is not the same caliber player that Cooks is. Personally I wouldn't be surprised to see Cooks starting with Toon or Morgan this year.

Actually isolated out in space is better, there will be maybe one or two players in the entire league who will be able to stay with him throughout a game...

This could be Payton's "Jerry Rice" type difference maker...

Yes; really like Reddick, but Fortt is a better athlete and will be able to push as a starter after a year of development...would like to keep both, but Humber has really developed into a quality linebacker and excellent special teamer...

The argument for Haralson and Powell over Butler is more of a Haralson/Butler debate and we've got a proven with Haralson in that spot with chemistry, effectiveness last season; further, cutting Butler will save 1.5 mil against the salary cap per (google OverTheCap Saints); Powell has 5-Star athleticism but was ill-advised to re: injured knee at Florida; so he can be a great special teamer and could see some special pass rush packages this year on a draftee pay scale...

Re: 2014 New Orleans Saints: Depth Chart

There hasn’t been much buzz around (Marcus) Ball this summer since he has been running with the third string. And Galette said he knew Ball was disappointed by his start in OTAs. But the former Canadian Football League standout stepped up in his biggest audition yet. He showed great instincts on the interception, shooting in front of Cooks to pick off McCown. He also had a sack on a blitz and a nice run stop. Ball even got the crowd involved, turning and yelling to the “Who Dats!” “The one thing I would say based on the film study was his ability to tackle in the open field, and he has really good football instincts. The interception he had today was a good example of that,” said head coach Sean Payton, who credited player personnel director Ryan Pace and the scouts. “The ball kind of finds him, and it did a lot when we watched the tape. He was very, very productive in the CFL, and I think he has a chance to be a real good special teams player.” - Mike Triplett

Nick Toon, Brandon Coleman - Toon needs to talk to colston and learn how to use that size of his to get some yards after the catch. maybe he is worried about catching the ball. Coleman is PS bond at this rate. first game jitters? maybe but boy he dug himself into a whole.

Kyle Knox - is just what his Bio said he was. hard worker that seems to always get in the right spot at the right time. i hope he gets tested more next week

I have a hard time believing Champ Bailey will play much, if at all period. Which makes me question the money we spent on him and his busted wheels. Better see some good stuff out of the CBs next few games or God-like play from our safeties.

Coleman definitely put himself in a hole with that performance; hoping he can rebound...

Toon just seems to be lacking that hunger, drive; the physical tools are there as well...

Knox plays as he had, he definitely makes the kicking game, but the special teams still look incohesive...

Has Butler even made it on the field yet?

We spent next to nothing on him. He has to make the team and play six games to collect anymore than the $500K signing bonus.

Very Limited though...Saints may have to move on if he can't show reliability (health)...

Saints nose tackle John Jenkins worked hard to stay in shape during stint on injury list | NOLA.com

Great News!

So what if we cut Victor Butler, do we sign anybody else? I think he is in for 2 Mio this season. I wouldn`t mind a little more depth at the offensive line to be honest. I think there are a couple of guys that can fill in as OLB this season.

It's not ability, it's just inability to get on the field...

And we really did skirt by last year with the depth on the offensive line...
