Could the Saints realtively early bye week be a problem?

The Saints get their bye week in Week 6, and barely a 1/4 of the season is over.

I personally would rather the break be a little later in the season.

It's our turn. Besides, eight other teams have earlier bye weeks. No biggie. In fact, it can really help if they choose to PUP anyone.

We'll be going 19-0... so no biggie!

True.

One Good thing about it there is that if the season were to start off "out-of-sync", it's not to late in the season to have that bye week to right wrongs and get on track...

After the Packers at Home and the Panthers Road Game to break up that 4-day week would have been ideal, but it is what it is...

I don't think its in our favor that is for sure. We start a brutal stretch right after and a later bye would help us get healed and rested for the end of season/playoffs.

Shortest road schedule in years. I think the bye could be week 2 and we'd be fine.

most of the road games are early

the bye isn't as strategic but champions win regardless of their schedule

The Falcons are complaining because they have us at home in the opener and have to waste a home game in London

It all depends on when we have injuries and how many?

If a few guys get hurt week 5, week 6 is perfect.

Lets look at the history

The Saints have gone 5-0 in the last five regular season games following their bye week.

I like it. I believe the Lions are being over looked this year and we go to Detroit to continue the streak. Which could turn into The Biggest Tests for this LB and secondary unit of the season.

I like the way this game is shaping up!

This could be huge for the rest of the season in confidence and getting their heads screwed on straight with an eye on the playoffs.

Breakout the Litmus Paper baby.

Matthew Stafford
Reggie Bush
Calvin Johnson
Brandon Pettigrew
Golden Tate

And that Lions front 4.

this will not be a shabby game

Lets not forget new Head coach Jim Caldwell

That would not happen no matter what. No one has gotten a bye week before and after the week of a TNF game.

And Eric Ebron is the new starting tightend over Pettigrew. Howeverr if I had to choose a game to lose between them and the bears, its them. I think this season the three teams that were the big 3 before SF and Seattle--us, packers, giants--take back the NFC.

We have nine days rest after playing the panthers also, however. So technically that is sort of a bye.

Did an early bye hurt the Saints in 2009??

but to beat the Lions early in the season should be huge. Lions always start fast and disappear down the stretch.
