NFL this week: Saints' Haslett preparing for firing
Akron Beacon Journal Dec. 5, 2004 New Orleans Saints coach Jim Haslett has resigned himself to the idea that he'll soon be joining Dave Wannstedt and Butch Davis in the league's unemployment line. In anticipation of his firing and future job search, he recently hired agent Jimmy Sexton. Apparently safe from the broom is Saints general manager Mickey Loomis, who was an usher in owner Tom Benson's wedding last month. Loomis is a decent salary-cap guy, but wouldn't know a good football player if he fell over one. Neither would the club's player personnel director, Rick Mueller. I say get on with it.Fire his azzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!! |

Haslett preparing for firing...
The only problem is he if goes we lose a quality QB, since they are conjoined. Remember Haz wouldn\'t even take him out when he was injured a couple years ago? :burning:

JOESAM2002 - we can hope...... but, hey, how long have we been doing that?
subguy - \"quality QB\" . Is this for real or subtle sarcasm? I see AB padded his stats again. Wow 3 TDs pretty good - he did his job didn\'t he? |

That may be the best part of it. Kill two bums with one stone.
I guess a quality qb can be different things to different people. [Edited on 5/12/2004 by whodatsaintsfan26] |

Yes it was sarcasm......sorry if it was too subtle. My opinion of AB has been consistent.

Haslett preparing for firing...
I seriously wonder if Haz-been\'s got a snow-cone\'s chance in hell of getting any other position, much less a head coaching job. He made his name as a defensive coordinator, as we all know, but how many teams are looking for a DC whose last defense was not only the worst in the league, but one of the worst in NFL history? Sounds like poor ol\' Jimmy Sexton\'s got his work cut out for him. |

I have a theory that Haslett must have AB on his fantasy team. Must be a yardage-only league w/ no deductions for INT\'s or fumbles.
Much more of this, and I\'ll bet Deuce is wishing he would have gotten traded to Miami instead of Ricky. At least the Fins believe in running the ball. [Edited on 6/12/2004 by neugey] |
